Hermano ha seleccionado esta canción para la semana de las canciones del año que
no han tenido su sitio, todavía, en el blog. Además nos ha permitido debatir
sobre cómo esta es una muestra de por dónde deben ir los tiros de la creación
musical si se quiere competir con las IAs, y es en el de salirse de lo
convencional, de lo ya trillado, y adentrarse en la originalidad y la
experimentación que lo artificial no puede concebir hasta que los imperfectos
genios de los seres humanos deciden que esa pared se puede atravesar. Esta canción
es algo tan desmesurado, tan ra”y”ante (y perdonad el chiste fácil), que hace
que la odies o la ames, y eso ya es de por sí algo memorable.
RAYE (a la que hemos tenido en estas entradas)
nace como Rachel Keen en Londres (Reino
Unido) en 1997 dentro de una familia de músicos y empezó a cantar en la iglesia
teniendo como referencias a artistas tan diversos como Stevie Wonder (al que
hemos tenido en estas entradas), Wet Wet Wet
(a los que hemos tenido en estas entradas), Ella
Fitzgerald (a la que hemos tenido en estas entradas) o Nina Simone
(a la que hemos tenido en estas entradas). Participa en varios certámenes amateur tanto como cantante como
compositora, y esta última faceta le abre las puertas de las discográficas con
tan sólo quince años. En 2014 publica su primer EP, Welcome To The Winter, que le consigue
el favor de la crítica. Dos años después su segundo EP, Second,
le abre la posibilidad de trabajar con el productor británico Jonas Blue en su canción By
Your Side que una gran popularidad en Reino Unido, al igual que su
colaboración con Jax Jones
en You
Don't Know. En 2019 lanzó el sencillo Love
Me Again y un año después Tequila
pero el bombazo lo consigue con Secrets
que llenará las pistas europeas. Su salto a las listas americanas lo consigue
con esta Escapism
que abrirá su disco debut, My 21st Century
Blues, tras estar años parado por su anterior discográfica. Se espera
que en 2026 se publique su segundo LP del que formará parte esta sorprendente Where Is My Husband!
La
letra de la canción es una sátira total de las mujeres que esperan un marido y
que son capaces de ceder y dejarse engañar con tal de conseguir el anillo de
diameantes de compromiso.

música original arranca con toda la fuerza de una big band y con un alma soul
que sirve de entorno en el que se despliega la versatilidad impresionante de la
voz de la cantante con el apoyo de los coros que la siguen en esa metralleta de
